The Easter celebrations started a week before when Robert and Megan brought down little Kate and the boys. It was so nice to visit with them, and who doesn't love holding a baby. Michael made a jello-bread Easter basket to celebrate.
Then David came down the following weekend with his children. We celebrated with some delicious Sammy's Woodfired Pizza and pies made by Emily and Katherine (our two oldest nieces). I watched in amazement as they moved around the kitchen putting the ingredients together to make a key lime pie and pecan pie, and they turned out to be delicious. What amazing girls.
My favorite part of the evening was when the kids came running in with a container of frogs.
It took me back to when I was little, my siblings and I would catch frogs down by the pond and then make waterslides for them. The nieces/nephews were so thrilled we liked frogs that they even let us keep them. It's not a kitten, but I'll take it.
We took them home and made a little habitat.
There were four frogs, but some had jumped out before we took the picture.
To prove that we didn't make frogs legs out of them, we documented their release.
What a beautiful new home.
We had our actual Easter dinner with Craig and Marilyn, it was very tasty. They have a tradition where they make "bunny-buns," which are rolls that look like bunnies. And these aren't just any rolls, they are the most delicious rolls in the world. I'm serious. It was really nice to spend Easter dinner with Michael's parents, I love living close to family.
And on top of all that, Michael and I decorated Easter eggs.
Of course Michael had to out-do himself as usual and made the most adorable bunny egg.
Look at its little feet - soooo cute.
And of course...
Yup, it was a good Easter.
