This year we were determined to go apple picking before it became slim pickings (literally)! We made sure to go on a weekend in September and figured we were safe. It just so happens that it was a bad year and by the time we got there most places were already out of apples. Go figure. Lucky for us we found the orchard we went to on our first apple picking adventure and they still had plenty.
Like every other Harvest day we started out with a delicious Fall breakfast. This year it was Baked Pumpkin Oatmeal. Sooooo good!
`
Not s good as last years Baked Pumpkin French Toast Casserole. But still pretty tasty. And very Thomas friendly.
After breakfast we headed to Julian.
I can't wait until next year when Thomas will be able to get excited and help with picking. This year he was content to suck on a baby-sized apple.
The great thing about U-pick is that every time Thomas dropped his apple, we could just pick a new one.
The apples may be overpriced (albeit delicious), but the experience is totally worth it.
Success!
After apple picking we picked up some apple cider (which was also limited due to a bad apple season) and had a quick picnic in the park before driving home.
We thought Thomas would be quite tuckered out but he surprised us by spending 30 minutes walking in circles with daddy. This video is near the end of the 30 minutes so he is starting to get tired and stumble a bit.
