1 year

Has it been a whole year already? Best year everTime goes by way too fast. You will all be happy (and maybe a little nauseated) to know that Michael and I are still crazy in love. In fact, I would say we are more in love than ever, which I didn't think was possible. I am married to the most wonderful, handsome, sweetest, charming, loving...you get the idea.

Over this past year I really came to realize just how much Michael and I are meant to be. Although looking back on a few pictures you'd think we would have come to this realization a lot sooner.

And of course we all know what Michael would have been like without me.....

Awwww, so sad.

It has been a great year full of immigration, school/internship, work, callings, all things cars and DMV, setting up the apartment, and a whole lot of crazy adventures. Not bad for our first year.

Things I have learned about Michael since being married:
1) He is not a morning person.....ever (unfortunately, I am)
2) His love of food trumps everything except for sleep (refer to first point)
3) He likes his toilet paper roll over not under (figured I would put this because people always use it as an example when talking about couples discovering differences between them and their spouse after getting married)
4) He absolutely despises ironing and will do anything to avoid it
5) He is a genius when it comes to physics/calculus
6) You can hit him in the forehead with the corner of a desk (using full force), open a door on his face, and drop a wrench on his head and he still won't cry
7) He is very patient (which comes in handy when I'm on an emotional rollercaoaster)
8) He is a hard worker
9) He likes animals almost as much as I do (although he won't admit it)
10) He absolutely loves it when I leave my oatmeal package on the counter in the morning. I'll admit that sometimes I leave it there on purpose just to get a reaction :)

To celebrate our anniversary we went to the San Diego County Fair, mostly because I had never been. I was surprised to find that the majority of the fair was covered in deep fried food vendors, what ever happened to Grandma Rose's famous raspberry jam?  I guess that's more of a small town thing. We had a really great time though. We really liked the picture/photo galleries and the prize winning animals. Our favorite part was looking at all of the bunnies. Here are a few of our favorites:

So cute, although he looks a little grumpy

This one looks like a slipper

I don't even know what that is.
We tried to find something that resembled a face but didn't have any luck.

This rabbit was SO HUGE. It's really hard to tell in this picture but it is bigger than a large cat and a majority of small dogs.

Of course we had to see the horses

For dinner we went to the cheesecake factory, since I had never been there. Everything went smoothly until the end when I dumped my recently filled glass of water all over myself. Thankfully we had already paid and so we were able to leave without anyone noticing. This is why we don't go to fancy places.

  1. I love your animal posts. I especially enjoyed the "slipper" and faceless...thing :)
