We had a lovely unexpected visit from my parents last week, this is what they showed up in...
That's my parents for ya. It was so nice to see them again. I loved exploring their new RV; I wouldn't want to drive it though.
I love my family.
It was a real treat to have someone to go swimming with and talk to during the day. Our adventures included a trip to Qualcomm's theater to watch "True Grit," an extravagant meal at Souplanation (my parents always want to go there, they think it's the best), countless rounds of bananagrams, birthday cake with Michael's parents, several Costco visits (my parents can't get over how many samples they have at the Poway Costco - it's the best one, I recommend it), and a quick trip to look at a Lot. Yes, you read that right, an actual piece of land to build a house on. Sometimes I wonder if my parents are a bad influence on me :) I don't know what's worse, the fact that we actually went to look at it, or that I am still researching information to find out whether or not it would be a real option. All in all it was a wonderful trip that ended way too soon. Thankfully I will be seeing them again in August.
As soon as my parents left, we were off to Luke and Rachel's open house. Hurray for marriage. We were glad to see them before their departure to San Francisco, may they have a very happy life together.
And to finish things off, I got a lovely phone call from my sister-in-law Erin one evening asking me if I would like to join her and her children for a fun-filled day at a water park. I didn't even have to think twice about that one. Photos courtesy of Erin McPhie.
What a wonderful family. It's amazing how in one day you can go from being a single college student to a married woman with 15 nieces and nephews. I am so blessed.
