Treehouse

(Michael) You know those moments where you think something irrational because it's fun to imagine.  Things like, "wouldn't it be great to have endless vacation", or "having a pot belly pig would be fun", or "what if we took down that palm tree and put up a tree house".  Well, my in-laws have a knack for making me think twice about ideas I wouldn't normally consider plausible.  I alone would have thought cutting down the palm tree would be a large effort.  And I actually had spent some time looking it up on YouTube and getting quotes.  Sure enough, my father-in-law put together the very official plan below and made it happen.

 

A couple of the highlights were when he estimated within inches of where the tree would fall and me somehow messing up the small responsibility he gave me with the framing.

Right after it was put together, Thomas and Rebecca were up and enjoying themselves.

Since then we've painted and added a pulley, bell, telescope, light, and doorbell.  Recently, Thomas took the camera (which has a blurry glow now since he's "cleaned" the lens") and documented a trip to the treehouse.

 ...And where Thomas goes, Rebecca is not far behind.
