Zoo/Seaworld

(Michael) Amanda and the kids have definitely enjoyed their passes to Seaworld and the zoo.  Sadly, the Seaworld pass expired last week so we had our final visit and celebrated by feeding the seals. Here are a few highlights from the last year.

Turtles    

I noticed that at one part of the exhibit they have a computer simulation where you can control a turtle on the screen by moving around a plastic toy turtle.  I looked at it and immediately thought of mercury switches, since that was the basis of the Invention Convention device my dad and brother had made using a toy jet way back in the day.

Even though we've been coming to the zoo/Safari Park for a while, it's interesting how things change as Thomas grows up and Rebecca becomes more aware.

Akin to the whole child-enjoying-the-box-more-than-the-present, Thomas spent a long time at the zoo with this snail.

Many times when we weren't sure if Rebecca was even awake, we would look down to see this.

One time Amanda and the kids got to the Safari Park just as it started raining.  They didn't mind getting wet and actually enjoyed the fact that it cleared out the park significantly.

And since they were already wet, they finally got to try out the lily pads without having to worry about wet shoes.

We had to get a picture of Rebecca with the flamingos because of her shirt.

The great part about having a pass is that you have more time to explore and find some hidden gems.  We found a neat little play area in the Safari Park where there are logs to build a hut and a water pump.

But after all the fun and new things, there are always...goats.
