(Michael) Since we both love the autumn season so much, we decided to spend the day doing as many Fall things as possible. We first went to the Harvest Festival in Del Mar.
They had a bunch of samples for various dips and soups (we made sure to thoroughly taste every one) as well as a whole bunch of festive crafts on display (including things to get us excited for Christmas!). We especially enjoyed one booth that had a collection of gourds decorated to look like animals.
After a fun morning looking at all of that, we drove up to Julian to pick apples. Apparently because of some colder weather earlier in the season most of the apple orchards were closed; however, we found one place that told us that we could pick anything they had left on the branches. We didn't find much and they were pretty tiny bite-sized apples, but they were still tasty and it was a beautiful day.
We then wandered around all the Julian shops and discovered some very delicious cold apple cider.
To finish up the day we went to get some soup in a bread bowl at Panera. Sadly, they were out of bread bowls, so we had to settle for just some soup and a piece of bread. Still delicious nonetheless.
Oh and since we haven't officially mentioned it yet, Amanda got glasses. Something about prisms and training her brain to see with both eyes. Much better than the last two optometrists who told her there was nothing she could do. Depth perception here we come!
