(Michael) Sea World had a special beginning-of-the-Christmas-season night for people with annual passes.
I took this opportunity to show Amanda the arctic wildlife section of the park. We did the Star-Tours-esque ride where they "anticipate a smooth ride" and "hope that they don't run into the approaching storm". After the ride we strolled through some of the polar animal exhibits, including this depressed polar bear...
And these especially chubby beluga whales...
We always like looking at the ridiculous things they sell at gift shops...
You can go wrong with giant puppy dog eyes...
We watched all of their Christmas shows, and enjoyed the little waving otter. Also, they passed out free glass manta ray Christmas ornaments.
A pretty great time except for the fact that as we were getting ready to leave the dolphins started taunting Amanda. She has always wanted to pet one (I believe it's been a lifelong dream), but every time we've gone she hasn't been able to do it for one reason or another. So of course, the one time the section is roped off, they float there waiting close to the edge.
Merry Christmas to you too dolphins.
