Poway Rodeo

(Michael) We did our traditional Poway Rodeo trip in September.  This year the clown was a lot better...although apparently he was knocked unconscious by a bull the night before.  The ambulance in the background was from the last bull rider of the night.  He was touted as one of the tallest/largest members of the competition which made his dramatic fall on his head all the more painful to watch.  Fortunately, I guess he turned out to be alright.

We thought it was interesting to see how they put vests and helmets on the kids doing the mutton busting, since the rodeo in Idaho definitely didn't have any of that (and those sheep were certainly more wild). 

This year we went with our friends Alan and Allison who introduced us to the rodeo dance.  We were really glad they were there because we had no idea what we were supposed to do.

I think Amanda was excited to be there....
