Canada Trip 2015

While we're on the subject of Canada, here are the pictures from the rest of the trip.

Packing was a little tiring...

But once we got there it was all fun times. Since it was so nice out, we spent a lot of time around water. We went to several different lakes, water parks, and even the ocean to catch a few mini crabs. I miss having easy access to so much fresh clean water. I hope they're right about the El Nino this year!

And when we weren't cooling off in the water, we kept cool by eating delicious frozen treats.

If you can believe it, this was the free "kid's cone" that came with his meal. It's basically the size of his head. 

Grandma and Grandpa were very generous with the popsicles. Thomas basically had them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

And of course there were lots of good times on the farm. Thomas especially loved that almost every plant had an edible fruit/berry on it. Between the blackberries, figs, peaches, plums, and popsicles, we didn't really need to bother with food. It was a little confusing for Thomas when he came home and we had to tell him that the berries on the hedges in our front yard weren't actually edible. 

Since my parents don't have a cow anymore, we had to take advantage of the one at a restaurant. 

We made our usual trip to the petting zoo to see the baby goats. Thomas wasn't as excited as we thought he would be, but Michael and I had a good time with this little fella.

He was very good at playing dead. That is, until we interrupted his sleep. He was a good sport about it though.

Since we've been travelling back to Canada for a couple years now, we wanted to try a few new things. This time we stopped by the butterfly gardens to see all of the pretty butterflies. It's always  hard to guess what Thomas will really like; he ended up liking the koi fish and parrot more than the butterflies.

 The other great thing about visiting Canada is built-in babysitters. Michael and I were able to go out to dinner and an outdoor Shakespeare play, go mini golfing with Rosie, and go tubing at lake Cowichan. 

I couldn't believe Michael had never been tubing before. We rented a boat and invited all of my siblings and some cousins to come along. Unfortunately since we were renting a boat we only had a single tube; tubing is way more fun when you're out on the water with someone else. Michael and I tried to remedy that by both going on one tube. Despite Michael's face in this picture, I swear (and he agrees) it was a lot of fun.
