Cub Scout Update

(Michael) I figure it has been a while since we've written about our cub scouts...

A couple weeks ago we did a Halloween themed night of activities.  I was a little hesitant about doing the toilet paper mummy thing, thinking that it would turn into a toilet paper snowball fight, but Amanda saw the advantage of wrapping up our two most wild kids so that they were motionless and speechless.

So wise.

We also had the boys draw ghost faces on white balloons with a glow stick inside.  Pretty neat idea that we got from some blog, however I think we both agree that permanent markers are not a good idea for scouts...or at least we are going to give the same amount of warning and supervision as fire.

We have done a bunch of other activities over the last few months, but sometimes we aren't very good at bringing the camera...and actually, even if we do bring the camera, things can get pretty out of hand if we aren't both totally focused on keeping them contained.

Let's see, we've played marbles, cooked hot dogs on a little grill in the parking lot, stacked cups in a pyramid (they liked that one a lot), went to the Mormon Battalion Visitor Center, did a rain gutter regatta (with only a few cub scout tears shed after a disappointing race), and had a visit from some firefighters.

Pretty fun, and four of them earned their bear this last pack meeting.  We are so proud.
