Summer update

Looking at all the pictures on my phone to write a blog post made me realize just how long it's been since we've given a big update. So here it goes.

Thomas and Lily.
Back in June they were still friends. Not so much anymore. Thomas has taken to chasing the cats around the house screaming. They have decided it's safest to stay outside during "Thomas hours".

We went to a Star Wars themed graduation party/goodbye Luke and Rachel. We made a death star watermelon for the occasion.

Last time together for a while :(

Even Thomas had a friend for the party.

More sprinkler repair. Thomas really wanted to help.

We went strawberry picking with Grandpa McPhie. Of course, leave it to us to wait until the very end of the season to think of the idea. We'll be on it next year!

Thomas was pretty happy to be able to just pick and eat any strawberry he wanted, whether or not it was finished ripening. We originally thought of the idea of strawberry picking because he was obsessed with picking all of the ones we had at home and we thought it might be nice to give our poor plants a rest (and give some time for the berries to actually ripen).

Cute Thomas and Grandpa in the fields.

Still managed to take home a bumper crop despite it being late in the season,

On top of eating lots and lots of berries, Thomas discovered the joy of corn on the cob. So much so that one cob just isn't enough.

And he still really enjoys smelling flowers.

Sorry for the indecency. He had just left his pool to smell the flowers.

I didn't realize this would be such a bad thing until he fell down the cement ramp in the backyard scraping his entire little exposed body and ending up with a bloody nose. I was prepared for the worst and quickly scooped him up and ran inside. To my surprise, as soon as we got inside and sat down he stopped crying, jumped off my lap, and ran back outside. I didn't even get a good chance to bandage him up. And to think other times a little stumble can set him off into a 5 minute crying fit. Kids.

(Thank goodness for garden stakes that are much more interesting than blood and pain)

And of course, the annual mandatory cow appreciation day pictures.

Such a cute little tail.

This time we had a little herd.

Hurray for free food and reasons to dress up! Pirate day is just around the corner :)

And finally, a little video of Thomas' animal noises from a couple months ago. His repertoire has expanded a lot and a few of the animals sounds have changed, but still so cute.

And I have to post the duck because it has changed from this cute attempt at "quack" to some weird "mo mo mo" sound.

My new favorites are lizard and rooster. I'll have to take an updated video and post it. He's still not saying any clear words, but he does use toddler gibberish like "nana" for banana, "bapa" for grandpa, etc. He's gotten really good at using mama and dada though which just melts me every time.
