Christmas / New Years

Yet another fabulous Christmas has come and gone. Each year we become more and more wise with our Christmas planning. This year we vowed to have everything done so that we could at least have one week where we did nothing but enjoy everything Christmas. We bought our presents, sent out our cards, and made our Home and Visiting teaching gifts. Last year we made hot chocolate sticks and so this year we decided to stick with the theme and do some homemade salted caramel hot chocolate.

I guess we're the hot chocolate people now. Anyway, it turned out ok, but it led to yet another kitchen catastrophe.

Let this be a warning to you all. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT accidentally splash hot liquid caramel on your skin, panic, and then try to get it off with other parts of your body. It doesn't end well.

Oh, and on a somewhat related note, be careful when eating peanut M&M's, you never know when what you're crunching isn't a peanut...

Michael was the lucky one who got to learn this fine bit of knowledge first hand

I LOVE Christmas!

This year we added to our decoration with this fun craft we made at a Relief Society Activity.

Lily had a pretty good Christmas as well.

We figured this year we would give her the finished edition of last years Christmas gift. Well, at least the exterior was finished, we still have some interior decorating to work on....

Her favorite gift was the goldfish Craig and Marilyn got her.

We even had time to check out the Christmas lights around town.

They had a few good ones set to music, unfortunately they aren't as good on video.

For Christmas Michael surprised me with a Sillouette Cameo

I had never heard of it before, but it is AMAZING. It's an electronic cutter that can do pretty much anything.  This was my fist project:

Not too shabby.

And to finish Christmas off - box mountain.

On top of a great Christmas, we also had a fantastic New Year's Eve party put on by our friend Allison.

We had delicious food, fun "minute to win it" games, a gift exchange (where I won a wolf hat), and good company.

All in all, an excellent start to the new year!
